To make sure you get the most out of your trip, we’ve put together this little Survival Guide with all the essentials you might need to know. From getting around town to last orders at the bar, it’s all here, laid out nice and easy for your scrolling pleasure.

Us and our neighbourhood
Tucked away in a historic building on bustling Exchequer Street, our Dublin home sets you at the cultural heart of the city. Just minutes from must-see attractions, it’s where Georgian architecture and world-class dining, centuries-old pubs and indie bookshops meet cobbled lanes, artisan coffee shops and hidden bars.
Exchequer Street, has its origins in the medieval era when it was home to the Exchequer of Ireland, the royal treasury, which gave the street its name. Over the 17th to 19th centuries it developed as a bustling commercial hub filled with tradespeople, shops, hotels and dining houses, and many of its iconic red-brick and terracotta buildings date from the Victorian and Edwardian periods. In the 20th century the area continued to evolve as a centre for retail and trading, notably with the opening of nearby George’s Street Arcade. Today, Exchequer Street remains a vibrant, character-filled neighbourhood combining historic architecture with modern restaurants, boutiques and cultural venues, offering a lively atmosphere that reflects Dublin’s rich commercial and social heritage right in the city’s core.

Cantina Valentina is a vibrant, Peruvian-inspired restaurant nestled inside The Hoxton, Dublin. It blends the warmth of a family-run picanteria with a modern, playful spirit—offering bold flavours, soulful hospitality, and a relaxed yet elevated dining experience.

Lunch: Wednesday – Sunday: 12pm-3pm
Dinner: Tuesday – Sunday: 5pm-10:30pm

Dollars
Dollars is a laid-back sandwich shop and wine bar tucked inside The Hoxton, Dublin, inspired by New York deli culture. By day, it’s all about espresso, breakfast sandwiches and fresh pastries; by night, it flips into a cosy spot for grilled cheese, charcuterie, and a glass (or bottle) of something brilliant.

Evening: Wednesday – Saturday: 5pm-11pm
Hox Shop
Swing by our Hox Shop in the lobby where you can buy snacks and drinks at supermarket prices; Blank body products; or something from our Best Of collection, with limited-edition items by our fave Irish makers.
Rip-off- free fridge
No nasty bills at check-out here, we give you a rip-off-free mini-fridge stocked with fresh milk and water. What’s more, you can fill your fridge with savoury and sweet snacks from our Hox Shop at supermarket prices.
Need A Lie In?
You get to choose your own check-in time for free with Flexy Time, which is available to anyone who books directly on our website up to 72 hours in advance. Otherwise, regular hotel check-in is 2pm.
Need a lie-in?
No problem, just let us know and you can stay for the bargain price for €10 an hour, up to 4pm (availability dependent). Of course, if you booked directly, you can check-out whenever you please with Flexy Time!
Quick Tips
We’re a stone’s throw away from many of the city’s public transport hubs.
Cabs can be hailed from outside our doors or ask reception to help you out. Uber is also widely used here.
We offer housekeeping only on request but if you want a daily tidy up just ask and we will wave the magic wand.
To save water, we’ll only replace towels on the floor and change your bedsheets if you request it. Please keep your towels hung up if they don’t need cleaning, and give us a shout if you do want daily housekeeping. For more info on all the good stuff we’re doing for the planet, click here.
It goes without saying, WiFi is free for all guests at The Hox. And if you’d like to make a good ole’ fashioned landline call, your first hour is free per day to pretty much anywhere except the moon.

The Hox is for everyone – but traveling with little’uns is no easy feat. So, after asking Hox parents about all the best (and necessary) bits that make for a comfy stay, we created a helping hand for you and your crew.
Introducing Tiny Hox! As standard, The Hox will help save on luggage space and provide essentials as well as fun extras for traveling with your kids.– A Tiny Hox welcome tote packed with a colouring book, pencils and a tiny amenity menu.– Free Little’uns Breakfast Bag for those extra early starts to the day, packed with oats, a banana, and milk.
On request: Bottle warmers, nappy pails, nappies and wipes (when needed in a pinch), bath essentials – an anti-slip shower mat for toddlers, baby baths for infants, and baby soap and lotion, plus board games for all ages.
Hox Hounds
We love our four-legged guests as much as our two-legged ones, so our human perks come in canine form too! Read on for all the deets about staying at The Hox with your dog. Enter Hox Hounds!
As standard, Hox will provide the bits and bobs you need to travel with your best furry friend and help save on luggage space. No need to lug around a dog bed, bowls, treats and waste bags – we’ve got you covered. You’ll have all the best dog-friendly spots in the neighbourhood listed in our map and in the Mutt Manual you’ll receive in your room, as well as a sweet set of stickers and a Hox Hound dog tag to make official!
Hox accepts one dog per room (up to 40lb) and there’s no extra cost (unless they’re a rockstar and trash the room, of course).
